so our final film project for the semester, Sweet, is in the final production process. it’s been interesting working on a romantic comedy; thanks Blair Blanton, Tyler Godsy, Dustin Faulkner, Preston Earnest, Rachel Warnes, and Michaela Walton for making this a success so far. we are preparing for a public showing on May 5th… thank you for one more project in the mix to add to one crazy schedule for the final days of the semester. for now, wordpress is forced to be put on the back burner.

so Michael Aurbach, professor at Vanderbilt University, was a visiting artist on campus today at UAB. fortunately, he made his way to our 3D critique for Jim Alexander’s class. he was a very interesting craftsman and made some very constructive criticisms of the pieces submitted. he had a lecture tonight at the school, and I felt like his work is definitely worth checking out…

I love photographs, but I’ve reluctantly come to the conclusion that I really just don’t like photos of myself. Photos seem to always capture a false piece of genuineness and never the true essence of the moment. They capture a level of health that I inevitably fall from each and everyday; that’s life. why retain the inescapable aging process that all find annoying and unpleasant?

Ruha stands on right looking through a viewfinder
so my aunt and I had a meeting with Jason Ruha this morning at Starbucks. Jason is a director from the Birmingham area, and he is originally from California. we brainstormed about effectively using video on social networking sites. that is really all I can say right now about the subject, but the question is how would you distribute a company’s videos in the most effective way across social networks and video sharing sites?
