Faron

I recently finished a commercial for Turnhere Internet Video for Miller Roofing in Jasper, Al.  It was a neat experience getting to work with the owner and some other employees; I learned about the family’s history in the business and captured some nice forklift action.  We (D) had some audio problems… but something is to be learned by those types of experiences.  Watch it now.

so recently, iStockPhoto accepted a video clip of mine.  It’s pretty interesting how video has become more and more accessible… their name/logo may a little bit limiting.

Letting Go

so my film class at school has just finished our first projects for the semester; it was interesting working on fiction for a change.  I had the privilege of working two other fine filmmakers, Brandon Triola and Jonathan Smothers.  Dustin Faulkner did an excellent job on the score.  check out Letting Go

some random thoughts…

March 13, 2009

1. Jock Jams “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble” has to be the best compilation song ever.

2. Nothing makes me feel more like an idiot than the gas pumps that go EXTREMELY slow once you get close to the amount for which you paid… we trust each other to zoom 70 mph down a crazy asphalt speedway, but we just can’t seem to master the “gas pumping” technique I guess.

3. El Ten Eleven is at the top of playlist right now.

4. Sunny days bring a certain responsibility to carry out those things you promised yourself you would do when “it is nicer outside” when it’s raining, you can go and take a nap and just blame it on the weather if anyone asks why.

5. I got two traffic violations at a roadblock next to my house.  I took care of them today without paying a dime…

6. I’ve never made this many blog posts in one sitting.

twitter…

March 13, 2009

there is a certain responsibility of having someone follow you on Twitter.  it’s unlike Facebook where it is merely a statement of fact for someone to be your “friend.” having someone follow you brings accountability to your tweets; one has to be more careful about recklessly pontificating about the federal government or other controversial issues without surely expecting ramification tweets.  as I receive more notifications of random people “following” me (which may be considered negative in many other senses), I realize that my tweets may be perceived better if they are more general… or maybe I just need a slightly different filter for the amount of people because essentially, communication changes with different numbers of people.  should Twitter be an exception?
