art…
October 24, 2008
so I just finished my second test in an art history class. it covered Renaissance, Mannerism, and Baroque art in Europe, Italy, and Spain. I don’t think I have ever studied so much for a normal chapter test in the middle of a semester. I’ve always had an unique style of learning information, and I took acronyms and idea matching to a whole new level this time. after Dustin mentioned my way of studying, I thought these few papers may be interesting to post. I started with just one piece of art; I tried to find similarities in the title, artist, year or years of creation, and location; then, I made an acronym from the titles: Peci, HD, DSC, LCM, MFPG, Kamps, Cats Love Jumping Behind Cats Carrying Substantial Meals… and that, my friend, is how I made an A.

So I will probably be in big trouble with Dustin for this one, but maybe he’ll get a few hits on his blog because of it. The truth is I was searching through old photo albums the other day to finish my About page, and I inadvertently discovered this great memory. hmmm, I’m not real sure on the date, but I know it’s a basketball team party at McDonald’s! Oh, I’m sure it was a blast… we’re all partially smiling so I guess we’re having fun…

it all started last week when I bought my first golf disc. I’ve played a few times and really enjoy it… “I live to frolf.” anyway, a few days ago I was sharpening the skills out in the yard, and the lake became the home of my new friend. I was upset for awhile, but today, I threw my fears into the wind and went diving for it. of course, being October, it was chilly and I can’t say I was totally confident in my defense against hungry little catfish at first. I was really ready to give up and just go spend another $8 on a new disc, but in the time of doubt, I felt the rough edges of my lost toy; I pumped one fist in the air while holding the disc in the other! “I didn’t do this for me. I did it for the little guy. Joe Six Pack. I did this for the guy who wakes up every morning wondering how he’s going to pay his kid’s orphanage bills.” needless to say, it was the most rewarding part of the day.
axletree media…

I just recently finished a promotional video for Axletree Media in Birmingham, Alabama. it was a fun project that included a full day of shooting at various locations in Montgomery and some new animation techniques. I am fairly pleased with the final product and hope to shoot and edit even more in the future for Axletree. thanks to my brother-in-law, Blake, for the reference and help.
